Not a problem Stonecutter; as a MM I completely understand. Just as our lodges are Tiled, I completely agree with this site being Tiled --- there are many cowans and evesdroppers about and the Internet allows many to enjoy a level of anonymity . . .
In my area, (Cape Breton, Nova Scotia), the membership is aging, (unfortunately), and I only know of one other Brother who is also a biker. Maybe, if New Brunswick gets up and running, I might be able to affiliate. Maybe a chapter in NS won't be too far off in the distance.
Thanks for the link to the pics. I had viewed some previously, but the outdoor degree pics really blew me away --- I would have loved to have been there it see that protrayed . . .

As in my reply to Stonecutter; I completely understand the need for guarding the West Gate and as our lodges are duly Tiled, so should this site.
I will investigate the possibility of becoming an associate with another chapter until one gets estalbished closer to home --- maybe it won't take too long . . .

Thanks, Brother Blkcycle. I'm going to watch the events in New Brunswick with great interest and I will check my next trip to Halifax to discover if there is interest there. Unfortunately, I only know of 2 MM who are also bikers in my area; me and Brother Bucky from Sydney.
We have active lodges; unfortunately the members are aging . . .

The Widows Sons have a way of fixing that problem. There probably isn't a chapter more than a year old who hasn't caused at least a few (younger) good men to seek membership in the fraternity.  |

From what I've been reading, it seems to be a positive way to increase membership. Too many people still think we are a secret organization; membership by invitation only. There are a few of us who proudly wear the Square and Compass on our various cages, but not enough . . .
I think I'll start to look into this . . .

And there are some of us old timers that got back active in the blue lodge after getting involved with the WS. I for one had to work all the time and wasn't able to partake in lodge activities until retirement and bought a bike and here I am.

That is why I wanted to be a part of forming the "Brothers in the Wind" chapter. It gives the Brothers a reason to come back to lodge and hopefully breathes life back into the lodges.

I think that is one of the problems with today's lodges --- too many outside influences; work, family, and problems with both which shortens your cable tow considerably . . .
Every time we have a degree, the lodge is practically filled; for regular craft work, you can count on a few of the regulars, the officers and that's about it unless we are having an official visit from the District Grand Master . . . .

Also.. While I completely agree that the rule about the tyled area is a good one. There are often many posts which could have been easily made under the "open" side. If possible, try to consider posting in the general public area if your post is likely to be of an appropriate nature for public viewing. That way, more content than just Happy birthday Greetings are available to interest our newest visitors to the forum. (I'm not certain I expressed that clearly, but you guys get the idea)...

If you wanna open another topic area.. have at it.. but this needs to be one subject..and let's keep Widowssons business private umunst Widowssons.. we're getting bigger and people ( you know who ) are watching..keep sensitive material in tiled areas. It wouldn't take a genious to create a security breach..

Could you, or another member of the Admin Gruop, contact me (thunderinjp@yahoo.ca ) to help me in forming a chapter. I have spoken to 4 brothers and they are all "in" as I was told (^_^), and they are quite excited about it. Our lodge meets next Tuesday and I'd like as much information about WS as possible before I present a motion to lodge.
